The marathon Keeneland September Yearling Sale kicked-off Monday and continues through the 23rd. The auction format brings buyers and sellers together. Sell the dream, buy the reality.
The great racemare Azeri's first foal by leading sire A.P. Indy entered the ring yesterday and brought a final bid of $7,700,000. Only seven horses in history have made at least that much on the racetrack. While fortune may lay in the breeding shed, this colt has to prove his credentials on the track. Apparently that was of no concern to the consignor, as the colt failed to reach his reserve price. Some dreams are bigger than money.
