OKLAHOMA CITY – A an optional allowance field of 2-year-olds went to the gate in Thursday’s $29,900 feature over the Remington Park turf course. Making the successful switch from main track racing to the grass was Perfect Bull who had enough to hold sway for a half-length win going 7-1/2 furlongs.

Owned by Red Dog Stables of Blaine, Minn. and trained by Bernell Rhone, Perfect Bull was handled by Dean Butler. The 2-year-old colt won his first career race in September at Remington Park, on the main track. He moved to the turf for the first time with no apparent difficulty, flying around the course while pressing the pace and then shooting to the lead at the top of the stretch.

Perfect Bull won his second consecutive race, crossing the finish in 1:32.97 over the firm turf. Art Thief battled through traffic to gain second while Bronze Fox held onto third position after racing in second for the majority of the event.

Away at 12-1 odds, Perfect Bull paid $26.60 to win, $7.20 to place and $6.80 to show. Art Thief paid $7.60 to place and $4 to show. Bronze Fox returned $12.40 to show.

The second career win from six starts was also the fifth consecutive race in the money for Perfect Bull, a colt by 1994 Horse of the Year Holy Bull from the Dazzling Falls mare Perfect Moment. He picked up a winner’s check of $17,730 on Thursday to run his overall bankroll to $45,861.
