HIGHLY COMPETITIVE FIELD EXPECTED IN CENTENNIAL
For Immediate ReleaseTuesday, November 11, 2008

A wide-open $50,000 Centennial Stakes is what fans and horseplayers will more than likely get on Sunday as the potential is there given the overflowing list of talent from the 35 nominated. The Centennial is at one mile over turf.

Kick On, winner of the Remington-MEC Mile in October heads the list but is expected to pass given the fact that he just won the $150,000 Jean Lafitte Stakes at Delta Downs on Friday, Nov. 7. With him out of the picture, the Centennial shapes up for very well with many who have won stakes or just missed in big-money events.

Marquee Event was second, beaten six-lengths, in the Mile behind Kick On last month. He has a second-place finish in the $75,000 Sunny’s Halo Stakes over the turf at Louisiana Downs in August.

Perfect Bull is an up and comer, having just won his turf debut impressively on Oct. 30 at Remington Park, defeating many who had stakes experience.
