Grass is greener.

The Red Dog Stables contingent numbered two dozen plus at Prairie Meadows as Perfect Bull entered the saddling paddock for the evenings featured stakes race going a mile on the dirt. The colt looked to be in great form as he paraded the Red & Black silks to the post. The field of eight broke in good order with Perfect Bull securing a spot five wide entering the turn. He traveled in fourth position as they moved through the backstretch. Rounding the far turn, the colt was moving best of all and challenged for the lead while going wide as they ran past the quarter pole.

There the anticipation of a winning run would crescendo as Perfect Bull was unable to duplicate his recent efforts, finishing fourth. Neither his best race nor his worse, yet they all start in a line and run to the same finish, no excuses. Solace is found in that the race proved the talented colt belongs in stakes company. The colts next anticipated start is the $50k Dean Kutz Stakes on July 3 at Canterbury Park. That contest will also be at a mile, yet on the turf rather than dirt, so the grass will definitely be greener. Enjoy the journey!
